Indonesia volunteered as the host after the cancellation of the 2019 ASEAN Para Games in the Philippines and the withdrawal of Vietnam as the host of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games. Solo was chosen because it is known as a disability-friendly city, as part of the inclusive city concept.

The 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022 logo depicts an active role, hope, and balance as well as a determination to grow and always be better in every stage. Just like a tree that continues to grow and be useful, it becomes hope that will have a positive impact on life even after the world has had to face the COVID-19 pandemic for the past two years.

The nation’s children who work in the arts and creative fields specifically detail the content of meaningful artistic forms in the logo, “The Indonesian nuance is represented in three distinctive forms, namely keris, wayang gunungan, and Javanese Hanacaraka script”.

In addition to the logo that carries the meaning of Indonesia, the creative team for the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022 has also given birth to the Rajamala Mascot (read: Rojomolo). Rajamala is known to be incomparable and symbolized a power to resist evil or negative aura, besides that Rajamala is also a palace heirloom in the form of a Canthik which symbolizes the greatness of the Surakarta Palace, where the city of the 11th ASEAN Para Games will be held in the city of Solo, Central Java.

The mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as Chair of INASPOC (Indonesia ASEAN Para Games Organizing Committee) said, “The logo for the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022 can describe a combination of all aspects that represent the spirit of struggle and strength in realizing the implementation of the Southeast Asian sports party for athletes with disabilities in 2022, where the Keris as a sign of authority that must be respected is the right symbol for the authority of the athletes participating in the games in the world in general and the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022 in particular. Striving for Equality”
